The Financial Management Expert will provide high-level technical and strategic support to the African Union Peace Fund on matters relating to financial management, investment oversight, risk management, asset allocation, and portfolio optimization. The role is critical to supporting the effective stewardship, sustainability, and long-term growth of the Fund in line with its strategic objectives and governance framework.

The Expert will support the development and implementation of sound financial and investment strategies aimed at preserving capital, enhancing returns within approved risk parameters, and ensuring adequate liquidity to support the Fund’s operational priorities. The position will also contribute to strengthening internal financial controls, compliance mechanisms, financial reporting, and risk mitigation frameworks to safeguard the integrity and sustainability of the Fund.

In addition, the Financial Management Expert will provide technical guidance on treasury and investment operations, performance monitoring, and stakeholder engagement, including coordination with Fund Managers, Custodian Banks, investment advisors, auditors, and other partners. The role will further support the review and implementation of investment policies and governance processes to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with international best practices.
