To perform a range of specialized, process-oriented responsibilities related to security operations, including monitoring and maintaining security equipment, in accordance with established procedures.
Assist in reviewing security threats and risks and compile accurate reports on trends and situations that could adversely impact WFP operations, ensuring information is properly collated to support reporting and decision-making.
Review security-related information (including security incidents, events, and daily operational security support) and use corporate or local information management tools to produce basic analysis and reports, ensuring timely availability of information for stakeholders.
Liaise and coordinate with local administrative authorities, security and law enforcement agencies, communities, UN/NGO security staff, and other relevant actors to facilitate safe programme access and mitigate potential risks to staff and assets.
Assist in the planning, coordination, preparation, and execution of field missions, including staff tracking and regular security assessments in the area of responsibility to support safe and effective programme delivery.
Prepare detailed post-mission security assessment reports with risk mitigation recommendations to support security analysis and decision-making processes.
Assist in providing advice to the Country Director on security risk management and safety issues in compliance with the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS).
Support the implementation of security risk management measures, including Minimum Operational Security Standards (MOSS), to ensure full compliance.
Assist in the management and maintenance of security equipment and identify new requirements to strengthen technological capacity in line with operational needs.
Monitor and ensure that access control procedures are properly implemented and strictly followed by all staff and visitors to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Contribute to the development and updating of emergency and contingency plans, including physical preparedness measures and procedures for crisis response.
Assist in identifying security training needs and support the planning and delivery of training activities for staff development.
Supervise and provide on-the-job training to junior staff to support capacity building and performance improvement.
Provide general security support as required and participate in all security coordination meetings (Security Cell, SMT, etc.).
Applied knowledge of security operational procedures and technical processes in day-to-day security work.
Experience supporting security operations as directed in field or office environments.
Experience providing ad-hoc technical guidance to staff.
Ability to produce structured security reports in line with corporate requirements.
Completion of secondary education with a diploma from a police or military academy is required.
A university degree and/or graduation from a police or military academy is desirable.
At least five (5) years of relevant experience with a secondary school certificate supported by a police or military academy diploma; OR
University degree (Diploma/Bachelor’s) with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant security experience.
Arabic and English are mandatory
French is desirable.
