Technical Support to Agriculture Sector Project Implementation in the three Lusophone Speaking countries - Angola, Mozambique, and Sao Tome & Principe.
The AHVP Complex is responsible, among other strategies for the implementation of the ‘Feed Africa’ High 5 Strategy. The Feed Africa Strategy aims to end hunger and rural poverty in the next decade through self-sufficiency in 15 priority commodity value chains specific to the continent’s agro-ecological zones. Realizing the objectives set forth in the strategy requires increased productivity; value addition; investment in infrastructure; an enabling agribusiness environment; capital flows; and inclusivity, sustainability, and effective nutrition. RDGS is an implementation Department, and through AHAI.6, it is responsible for implementation of all AHVP project work and ESW, Agriculture, Human and Social Development. Angola and Sao Tome currently have no substantive staff (agriculture expert), while Mozambique portfolio is big and underperforming. Thus, a consultant is required to fill the staffing gap in Angola and Sao Tome & Principe, while supporting the newly recruited staff in Mozambique towards strengthening the PIUs.
The Consultant will work in RDGS/AHAI.6 and based in Bank Office in Angola, supporting implementation of the agriculture Sector portfolio for the three Lusophone countries - Angola, Mozambique, and Sao Tome & Principe. The assignment broadly covers scaling up agriculture sector interventions and project implementation as a business through value addition led by the private sector and enabled by the public sector; creating an enabling agribusiness environment; catalyzing capital flows; investment in infrastructure; ensuring inclusivity, sustainability, and effective nutrition; all in a coordinated manner.
