Duties
Under the supervision of the Strategic Information Deputy Branch Chief, the incumbent serves in the CDC Cote d'Ivoire Strategic Information (SI) Branch and supports the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) for accelerated progress to achieve and sustain HIV epidemic control through innovative and effective HIV surveillance and information gathering systems. As public health technical advisor, incumbent provides technical expertise in surveillance to improve HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment programs that CDC Cote d'Ivoire and the Ministry of Health collaborate throughout the country. Incumbent supports evaluating the progress of the HIV response towards 95-95-95 goals.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: At least three years of experience in HIV/AIDS surveillance; field experience in surveillance of communicable diseases, with special focus on HIV/AIDS/STI; and experience in program management, training, and production of training materials, manuals, guidelines, reports, and supervision is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of research protocol development, implementation, analysis is required. Knowledge of related scientific literature review is also required.
Education Requirements:
Minimum of Medical Doctorate (M.D) with certificate in public health.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:
Level III (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/writing of English is required. This may be tested.
Level IV (Fluent) speaking/writing/reading of French is required. This may be tested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to conduct research including conducting literature searches is required. Ability to work collaboratively with project staff and other organizations is required. Ability to write project proposals, work plans, reports and organize meetings is required. Use of MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or any proprietary software to be used on regular basis, data driven decisions, attention to detail, clerical skills, ability to be flexible and compliant required.
