Senior Broadcast Journalist (Multimedia)
Job Introduction
The BBC is an international multimedia broadcaster on radio, TV, online and social networks with a weekly global audience of 320 million. As part of an historic and exciting expansion of BBC Africa, the BBC World Service is launching a range of programmes and digital content that will go beyond the hard news agenda to cover Health and Lifestyle alongside other African content.
Role Responsibility
To compile and output innovative Health & Lifestyle programmes and content.
To be creative in developing BBC’s Africa’s Health & Lifestyle agenda and to formulate ideas which will inspire and inform audiences.
To plan, structure, write and produce content for use on TV, Digital and Radio.
To be responsible for all content ensuring it meets BBC standards and legal requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
Fluent in written and spoken English and French
Exceptional knowledge of health and lifestyle issues, in particular stories that appeals to an African audience.
Proven skills in creating high quality TV programmes or visual content.
Strong digital understanding and awareness.
Proven editorial judgement and the ability to make decisions under tight deadlines.
