Security Assistant II (Dollow)
Purpose of the position:
The position holder will assist the Operations Manager and Security Advisor to keep abreast of the security environment. Facilitate the planning of implementation of security training. To provide on-going support to Operations Manager in the promotion of security awareness. Assist the Operations Manager ensure compliance with Core Security Requirements, developing implementation plans for security enhancement, undertaking routine drills/trainings and controlling inventory and state-of-readiness of security assets.
Major Responsibilities:
- Promote security awareness with staff;
- With the assistance of Security Advisor, facilitate training of staff in security related issues;
- Assist in the planning and implementation of security enhancement plans;
- Provide security context information for a number of different reports;
- Ensure security related materials are in place, in working order, their use understood by staff and that they are inventoried.
- Monitors guard force performance.
-Ensure up to date and relevant context monitoring/reporting.
- Ensure a safe and security aware working environment.
- Ensures awareness of Core Security Requirements and adherence to security related plans.
- Ensures security related training is disseminated.
- Other Competencies/Attributes:
- Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as negotiation skills
- Must promoted and adhere to set security standards- must “walk the talk”
- Ensure a gender perspective in the scope of work
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
- Educational level required: Secondary Education preferred;
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in a job that requires analysis and/or extensive interaction with government/security stakeholders;
- Ability to articulate in written and spoken English
-Working Environment / Conditions:
- Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
- Travel: 10% Domestic/international travel is required.
