At the request of the Federal Government of Nigeria, the AfDB is supporting the design and financing of the Digital Value Chain Infrastructure for Boosting Employment (D-VIBE), also known as Project BRIDGE. The project will expand Nigeria’s fiber backbone from 35,000 km to 125,000 km, addressing current infrastructure shortfalls and extending coverage to underserved areas. The initiative aims to provide equitable access to high-speed broadband, accelerate digital inclusion, reduce disparities, and unlock productivity across key sectors.
To support project implementation, a series of studies—including industrial policy, affordable device fiancing, financial, technical, and cross-border connection analyses—will be finalized in 2026. Given the complexity of the studies, the involvement of multiple consulting firms, and the large number of stakeholders, PITD.2 seeks a consultant to coordinate the studies, ensure that results meet expectations and MCDF requirements, facilitate dissemination to partners and potential private investors, and support the design of flagship initiatives emerging from these studies.
The Consultant will also support reporting to the Government of Nigeria, engagement with development partners and private sector actors, and assist the Bank in procurement and evaluation processes, ensuring timely, high-quality, and actionable study outcomes.
