The Svitzer Group has been awarded a 20-year contract to provide Harbor Towage Marine services to the Tanger Med 2 port in Morocco. The new business will start-up Q3 2018 with operations commencing late 2018.

Svitzer Tanger Med 2 requires an astute Finance professional to support the Country Finance Manager. The overall fleet composition will initially consist of 4 Tugs and 2 Pilot Boats (with additional 2 Tugs and 1 Pilot Boat joining the fleet later in the 20-year contract). 

This role is based in Tanger, Morocco & will be reporting to the Country Finance Manager and the role will suit a sharp finance professional with a predilection for business partnering, accounting and reporting.

You will be responsible for finances in our newly established company providing marine services to the port, and you will provide assistance on establishing a well-functioning finance function with excellent finance processes, controls, budgeting and reporting.

Key responsibilities
Provide best finance and administration services based on requirement from management team and local government.

• Assist in Audit and stautory requirements

• Assist in all accounting and reporting requirements

• Follow up for payments from clients

• Assist in maintaining an effective control environment

• Act as a liaison with banks

• Maintain petty cash

• Review monthly payroll for local and expat crew in close cooperation with Human Resource department

• Local correspondence letters to ministries of companies with respect to finance department

• Maintain proper filing system/record keeping 

• Assist in Payroll process up until issueing salary slips for onshore as well as offshore colleagues

We are looking for
Required / Preferred Education:

• University degree in Finance and accounting or relevant qualifications

• Minimum 3 years working experience in Finance

• Strong Communications skills

• Fluent in spoken and written French, Arabic and English

• Self-motivated and well-organized

Training and competencies:

• Fluency in written and oral English mandatory. Arabic fluency HIGHLY preferred. 

• Proficiency in MS Office programmes, including Word / Excel / PowerPoint and Outlook.

• Experience in advance accounting and reporting packages (Navision and OneStream experience desired, though not essential)
