Maersk Congo RDC S.A. is looking for an organized, driven, and experienced candidate to take up the role of CHB Agent (Customs House Brokerage).
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all transit operations on behalf of the company by ensuring compliance with the various procedures related to this activity (Customs tariff, customs code, road regulations, etc.) and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all necessary documents for customs clearance are collected from customer to carry out the operations properly
Inform and advise customer on the formalities of the movement of goods (legal provisions, taxes, guarantees, etc.).
Process all transit operations: import and export/road and air/border crossing.
Interact with terminal authorities
Submit customs declaration in strict compliance with the HS code as per cargo description, cargo value, Freight value, and insurance value
Monitor and validate spending commitments.
Inform the client and the hierarchy of the steps in the progress of the file. Notice of arrival, delays, delivery etc.
Maintain excellent experience with customers and different administrations (DGDA, terminals, SEGUCE, OCC, etc.)
Present the status of the files at the daily meeting.
Check and validate all disbursement invoices.
Ensure that all customs directories are followed properly. Customs declarations, temporary admissions, etc.
Develop the skills of employees and other people in the field of transit
To be a focus point to internal and external customers to ensure the efficiency of processing operations and compliance with regulations related to the activity of transit
Who we are looking for
Knowledgeable in Transport - Logistics/Transit and Customs.
Experienced candidates (a minimum of 3 years) with a background and proven track record in handling customs and transit operations, import and export/road and air/border crossing for commodities including pharmaceutical products, dangerous Cargos, etc.
Thorough knowledge of pack Office and Sydonia platform for declarations
Outstanding professional performance and experience within logistics, transit, and customs clearance
Strong leadership and team working abilities
Proactive and complex problem solving minded
Active Listening, critical thinking and decision-making capacities
Strong independent drive to achieve success in your work
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
Fluency in French and good working knowledge of English
