Position: Area Programme Driver - 1
Position Reports to: Area Programme Manager
Location: Katete/Kawaza ( Katete)
Purpose of the Position
To provide secure and timely driving services to Area Programme staff and/or visitors and ensure proper maintenance and management of Area Programme fleet (which includes motorbikes).
-Facilitate Area Programme staff as well as visiting World Vision staff/visitors.
-Ensure that all trips that are authorized are in the travel plan.
-Ensure that the vehicle logbook/platform is utilized and mileage recorded from start and finish mileage.
-Ensure vehicles and motor bikes fuel allocated is used accordingly as indicated in the movement log-book before undertaking any trip.
-Ensure that no unauthorized passengers are carried in World Vision Zambia motor vehicles.
-Prepare vehicle performance report and submit to Transport office timely.
-Ensure high standards of cleanliness and tidiness both inside and outside motor vehicles under any drivers’ custody all the time.
-Report all accidents and defects on motor vehicles so that they can be attended to on time by the Transport Officer.
-Monitor and ensure that the status of motor vehicles e.g. engine oil, water, break fluid and tyre condition etc are in good state before using the motor vehicle.
-Ensure all vehicles and motorbikes are serviced on time
-Adhere to the transport and asset (vehicle/motorbike) disposal policy.
-Ensure all authorised drivers undertake drive for zero training and testing of new staff that are eligible to be authorised to drive.
-Must participate/lead in devotions and attend WV chapel services to maintain WV Christian ethos and culture.
CHILD AND ADULT BENEFICIARY SAFEGUARDING;
-The role holder will have direct contact with children/or young people and adult beneficiaries either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively, because they will be working in the Area Programme. Therefore, the job holder is expected to maintain high levels of Safeguarding to the beneficiaries.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
-Minimum 2 years working in an NGO
-Hold a Chartered institute of Transport and Logistics Certificate, and/or its equivalent
-Ability to work in a multicultural environment with NGO experience
-Must be computer literate
-Ability to prioritize work and need for urgency
Other competencies and abilities
-Must be a team player
-Able to communicate fluently in English both written and spoken
-Good Communication and interpersonal skills essential
-Understanding of Child Safeguarding issues
