Nutrition Programme Manager
ROLE PURPOSE
Save the Children’s nutritionprogrammes in South Sudan have recorded significant gains in expandingnutrition programme coverage and responsiveness. Currently, through multiplefunding sources, Save the children supports 42 sites providing community-basedmanagement of acute malnutrition (CMAM) and plans to extend CMAM throughout theSave the children-support network of primary health care facilities.
TheNutrition Program Manager is responsible for overall leadership and management ofSCI’s nutrition programs in Eastern Equatoria State, including effectivecoordination with other actors, timely implementation of program activities andeffective response to emerging nutrition needs. Responsibilities include overallimplementation of the project’s components including needs identification, newprogramme development, budget management, implementation planning, procurementplanning, staff management, programme reporting, liaison and support of the county/stateon nutrition intervention, and capacity building and training of nationalstaff.
This position will directly support SMOH in coordination,planning, monitoring, data collection/management and reporting of nutritionactivities in Eastern Equatoria State. In addition, the post holder willco-chair the Nutrition Cluster in Easter Equatoria.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
University Degree in Nutrition,Nutritional health or Dietetics related field.
EXPERIENCEAND SKILLS
Essential
Minimum of 3 years’ experience incommunity-based nutrition programming and 2 years in Community-based Managementof Acute Malnutrition (CMAM). 2 to 3 years management experience in an INGOenvironment, including experience in emergency contexts
High level of computer literacyincluding experience using nutrition related statistical packages such as ENA,Epi Info or SPSS.
Good sensitivity to cultural aspects ofrural communities will be needed.
Willingness to work in harsh conditionswith minimal basic social services.
A team-player, creative, innovative andable to mobilize diverse resources for results. Achieving quality results andservice; Practicing accountability and integrity; Communicating informationeffectively
Skills and experience inproject/programme monitoring, review and evaluation.
Ability to design and implementcapacity building plans and initiatives for staff and partners
Experience in defining and deliveringtraining programmes
Strong report writing and budgeting skills
Demonstrable commitment to humanitarianprinciples and accountability frameworks, especially in working with veryvulnerable populations.
Experience and knowledge of effectivefinancial and budgetary control managing multiple grants and donors withability to build staff capacity on budget management
Ability to analyze nutrition information,evaluate options and to think and plan strategically
Experience of working in an emergencysetting
Flexibility and a sense of humour –ability to work, live and thrive under challenging circumstances
Desirable
Experience working in South Sudan
Arabic or other local language a hugeadvantage

Contract length: 12 months
