Regional Head Of Supply Chain 

The role 
As a key member of the WCA Operations Team, and part of Regional Extended Senior management team (ESMT), you will play an active part in defining and implementing Save the Children's strategic approach to logistics and supply chain in the WCA Region. You will be a key member of the global logistics working groups, supporting critical projects that are bringing about transformational change in our country-level operations. 

You will work with Country Offices to analyse, design and implement efficient and effective logistics and supply chain resources and assets so that Countries are able to meet their commitments and accountabilities to beneficiaries and donors efficiently, effective, and with proper risk management system in place. 
You will provide technical support and technical leadership to Country supply chain leading roles on all aspects of logistics and supply chain management in order to reduce operational costs, minimise wastage and improve the quality and timeliness of projects. 

 Qualifications and experience 

Essential
 5 years or more experience in Senior Supply Chain & Logistics management role, including experience within Emergency response
Relevant experience in managing senior supply chain professionals is required, with management of multiple countries at Regional or Headquarter level being a significant advantage.
Full work level proficiency in both English and French is required
Proven ability to handle complex workload with multiple stakeholders (experience in a matrix management structure is beneficial
Knowledge of WCA Countries, regional dynamics, and aware of the humanitarian situation across the west and central Africa region.
Knowledge of the rules and regulations of major institutional donors with regards to supply chain management, logistics and procurement
High level of literacy on Information Technology (including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, sharepoint, Office 365, Visio, PowerBi, etc) and advanced competency in development of spreadsheets, databases and other analytics systems.
Experienced or at least literate in organisational change management, experienced in remote management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with capacity to make synthesis and analysis, able to re-elaborate complex concepts to adapt contents for non technical counterparts.
Track-record of making productive contributions to teams in a working under pressure
Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% of the time and to change plans quickly in event of humanitarian crises in the region; Interest in deploying to major emergencies as part of Save the Children's global roster
Capacity to work under limited supervision, resilience to stress, capacity to follow up on multiple critical initiatives at the same time.
Previous experience in budget management is a strong advantage
Commitment to Save the Children values, strong cultural awareness, and capacity to promote strongest ethical standard across the workplace.
Highly Desirable 
Experience of training, coaching and other approaches to staff capacity building
Experience in working with Security Counterparts to improve the implementation of operational security across key supply chain activities such as fleet and movements planning, and distributions
Developed capacity to speak in public in both French and English and to adapt the communication to audience variating from field staff to very senior stakeholders.
Financial management and internal audit familiarity are added value for applicants
 
Contract length: 02 years
